For anyone who is new to the Leeds area, there are two new websites that have been setup by Leeds City Council to offer advice on everything you might want to know about living in our amazing city.

 

www.newtoleeds.org a guide to living in Leeds for anyone, including all migrants.

This website provides helpful information on a range of topics such as

• How to get around the City
• Where to get health and medical advice
• Schools and education for children and adults
• How to find somewhere to live
• What jobs and training are available

 

www.transitionguide.org.uk which is for refugees in the first 6 months of becoming a refugee.

This website provides helpful information on a range of topics such as

• Where to get help
• How to find an interpreter
• What benefits are available
• How to open a bank account etc.

Both of the above websites can be translated into over 20 community languages.
