8th February 2021
Last week was another week that has asked a lot of us all, including a snow closure day, but that hasn't stop anything from being completed at school👍
Well done to everyone who has made mass lateral flow testing at HPS run so smoothly. A huge thank you to our Covid-19 Coordinators, Mrs Willshaw, Mrs Smith, and Mr Wood for getting this up and running and to every member of staff who has done a test - not pleasant but so important.
I am sure everyone feels a little less anxious coming into school knowing that you are surrounded by colleagues who have tested negative. I certainly do! 😊
When I walked along the main corridor last week it did make me smile to look though one door and see Harehills Oasis Supermarket, then opposite the IT suite transformed into a medical centre giving out Covid-19 tests and the hall serving as a royal mail sorting office for packs ready to go out via HPS 'deliveroo' service. Add in the socially distance queue of parents collecting food vouchers from the office and a batch of school laptops being loaned to families and I think we can all see just what a community hub we are.
The best bit of all is that our staff team are always looking for what else they can do!!
Week by week it has become harder to keep upbeat but seeing different faces in school and hearing children really does help.
We all need to stop and think about all we do for one another and feel very, very proud.
