Hope, Peace, Joy and Love

Last week just flew by and it's beginning to look a lot like another very festive Christmas time in school.

It was a wonderful week, sprinkled with a little bit of magic that HPS does so well.

Classes have been busy creating Advent windows in their classrooms and I know that the children are excited about going on a 'Spot the Advent window' trail next week.

On Tuesday it was time for our Advent assemblies and decorating the Christmas tree. I talked about our Advent crown and the significance of the different coloured candles - Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and White for the light of baby Jesus. This is always a very special assembly.

One child had brought a decoration to put on the tree for their class and every member of our Senior Leadership team put decorations on the tree for the staff in very year group/team. Once it was finished, we switched off all the lights in the hall and counted down to the switch on of the lights which was done by the Head girl and Head boy.

Christmas Tree

And who would have thought that the whole of my lovely SLT would steal chocolates from my advent calendar. It seems to be that whenever Mr Matthew's elf jumper is around something happens!

Definitely a lot of laughing and love of learning.
