A consistent approach
Last week we welcomed our new School Improvement Advisor Duncan Grant on his first visit to Harehills Primary and he was very impressed by what he saw. He recognised the hard work that has been put in to achieving 'a high level of consistency with regard to classroom environments' and saw that school 'clearly has high standards and expectations'.
Duncan was able to see a range of subjects including Music, French, Maths and PSHE and everywhere he went it was 'calm and orderly with a purposeful feel and a learning buzz where lessons were more lively'.
At our Reading, Writing and Maths team meetings this week our teachers looked at learning journeys in reading and writing as well as our Maths sandwich approach so we can ensure there is a progressive, consistent approach throughout school which ensures the best possible outcomes for all our children.
It is wonderful to know that when visitors go into our classrooms they can see that our intent has been implemented into the learning experiences our children have. This week our Strategic Leadership Team will be visiting lessons in every class across school and we are really looking forward to seeing our curriculum in action.
I can't wait to see what our children have to share with us! 😃
