HPS Macmillan Coffee morning

Coffee Morning

In a week full of special moments, the 'icing on the cake' (pardon the pun, for me has to be our Macmillan Coffee morning on Thursday. I know all staff valued the opportunity to have their breaktime tea/coffee made for them and the added treats were amazing. I think SLT enjoyed donning their aprons and waiting on them!

Our staff team gave so generously including baking and bringing cakes/biscuits. I so pleased to announce that our caring and generous staff team raised £438.07 for a charity that does so much work to support people living with cancer and their families.

My other highlight was Tuesday morning, when Sandhurst 3 began a new year of class assemblies in true style and set the bar very high. Harehills United Nations celebrating the ~41 languages we speak across school was so powerful - a wonderful reminder of how richly diverse we are. The perfect way to celebrate European Languages Day 2023.

Friday ended with great excitement when Year 6 children got to find out who their Staff buddy will be for their final year in Primary School. I introduced staff buddies when I was Deputy Head and it is always something the children look froward to. An adult is paired with a child in Year 6 and they check in with them throughout the year to celebrate their successes and offer support if needed. We all value having someone to look out for us and that is the driver behind Year 6 buddies.

Another great week at HPS!
