All the little extras 🙂
It has been another week crammed full of exciting experiences including the Year 5 ISL for their theme, 'Were the Greeks Groovy?' which saw a few members of staff transformed into Greek gods taking part in Aphrodite's reality show?!! 😉 I know from my conversations with Year 5 children that these inspirational starter lessons really do activate their curiosity and get them to be totally immersed in the theme. I am not sure whether I will be able to shake off my role as Hades, god of the Underworld. It seems that the children would like part 2?!
A special shout out also for Mrs Ahmed who led a very successful Sports event for Year 2 children after school on Tuesday - the children loved it and it was great to see them so active.🙂 At the same time, Tutti-Frutti were continuing with their Arts club for Reception and KS1 children. It is fantastic to see the children gaining so much from skilled, experienced artists. Thank you to Miss Lister and Mrs Liaqat for making this possible.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Dan Reeves, our Leeds United coach started his after school football club for girls and boys in Upper Key Stage 2. We have so many children who are so passionate about football and desperate to learn all the skills, so this is a wonderful opportunity for them.
I am sure everyone will have made the most of an extra-long weekend and Eid Mubarak to those of you who celebrate this special time. We will return to school on Tuesday ready to 'make the most of May' 🙂
