A new half term

Another very positive start to a new half term at Harehills Primary. It has been great to see the children so happy to be back in school learning.

I know Miss Melling and Miss Pallas were really impressed when they popped into Phonics lessons this week in all Year 1 and Year 2 classes. We introduced a new Phonics scheme in September 2022 which is a massive undertaking, and it is very evident that staff are committed to making this very successful. They are looking forward to visiting Early Years Phonics sessions at the beginning of next week. I am sure we will see the impact in children's progress in Phonics by the end of the school year.

We have some very busy weeks ahead including World Book day, Mock SATS weeks for both Year 6 and Year 2 children and Spring 'Come and Share' meetings for parents.

It is also the time of year when we compete in Leeds Debating competition and get to find out if we have any shortlisted entries for this year's Arooj Creative Writing competition. These are some of our favourite events of the year.
