How much can you do in a week?

Blink and you will have missed it! That is how I would describe last week. Crammed full of so many wonderful learning experiences, it is a reminder of the extremely high-quality curriculum we offer our children at HPS.
Thank you to Mrs Marshall and Darfield 3 for the emotive assembly they performed launching Refugee week. There was so much for us to think about and suggestions for how we can do our own bit to offer refuge to others. I am looking forward to seeing the canvases that the children will create, inspired by the artist Murugiah who has produced works of art around this year's theme for Refugee week which is 'Compassion'.

Thank you to Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Sharif, our Science Leaders, for inspiring all year groups to engage in such exciting projects for Science week which was embellished by visits from our STEM career representatives. The week ended with a very successful Science Fair that gave children the opportunity to share the end products with parents and children across Key Stage 2. We had visitors who are STEM ambassadors come and set up interactive learning opportunities for the children to enjoy.
So much learning came from this week and the children loved it!

Meanwhile, feedback from the visits to lessons SLT have made to classes right across school over the fortnight has been of a very high standard which is great to hear. They have seen lessons in a range of subjects, and it is very evident that the commitment to the Harehills Curriculum allowing every child to 'learn, laugh and love' is as strong as ever.
