A 'SPOTACULAR' very NOISY week!

On Friday we all dressed in a 'spotacular' way to raise money for the 2023 Children in Need appeal. One of our ex-pupils, Radio Leeds DJ, Rima Ahmed came into school to swap roles with one of our lunchtime assistants and the same member of staff had a guest spot on her radio show. Rima also interviewed members of staff and MindMate ambassadors about a range of matters but very focused on how we support children. She had great fun and especially enjoyed talking to staff and children about the changes to the school since she was here a long time ago!

This was at the end of a wonderful Anti-bullying week. It started with children and staff wearing odd socks and all classes were asked to think about being a superhero and what superpower they would have to try and stop bullying. There were some fantastic ideas.

Having heard the enthusiastic renditions of 'This is me' from The Geatest Showman all around school, it makes me think how lucky we are to work in an environment which really does embrace every individual and celebrates differences. Staff and children were asked to 'make a noise about bullying' and led by Miss Melling and inspired by Elford 1's powerful assembly that is exactly what everyone has done.
