Collaborate

For my first assembly of the new school year I talked to both family assemblies about the importance of collaborating; being part of a team. Collaborate is one of six key learning attributes that we focus on at our school knowing that if you can collaborate with others effectively it will help you throughout your life.

During the week I saw fantastic examples of how well both children and staff work together at Harehills Primary School. Our Early Years staff team couldn't have done more to make our youngest children and their parents feel welcome as they started school in our Nursery or Reception classes. It is always a special time seeing smiling three and four year olds on their first day. 

Across school in every classroom I have seen children collaborating to enable everyone to learn and I was very impressed when I joined the Healthy Schools team to see how different leaders are working together to enable our children to become healthier emotionally and physically.

I look forward to seeing how we all continue to develop the ability to collaborate for the rest of this half term.
