Celebrating the Year 6 journey

Last Monday we shared with Year 6 a 'virtual' presentation in place of the annual Year 6 dinner which we would usually hold, when Year 6 children come with their parents to celebrate the beginning of their journey through Year 6. Sadly, due to Covid we have been unable to have such a large gathering of people in school and so found a way to do this remotely. Many thanks to Mr Lawton whose amazing ICT skills were used to put together the presentation and with support from Mr Hall. You can view the presentation here.

The presentation highlighted the many experiences that help to develop every child into a rounded young person ready to take on any challenge they might meet.

Our Head boy and girl and Deputy Head boys and girls spoke about

  • Independence
  • Motivation
  • Maturity
  • Effort
  • Respect
  • Supportive
  • Endurance.

These are the seven characteristics that will help them to achieve.

The presentation showed lovely photos of the staff who work with Year 6 and the children's friendship groups who make such a difference to helping them feel happy. It ended with picture of the children dressed in the career they would love to have in the future. I felt so proud watching this of very single one of our wonderful Year 6 children and I know they are eager and ready for what lies ahead.

The clear message was that 'with support from their families at home and their families at school the children could achieve their aspirations' 🌟😊
