We have had a busy half term in Ashton 1.

On Friday last week we walked to Gledhow Woods as part of our Woodland theme. We went to find the Gruffalo but we never saw him. We did see huge footprints that may belong to the Gruffalo. We saw different animal habitats such as holes in the trees and ground.

Last week it was Ashton 1's turn to put on the assembly. Our focus was 'I can reach out for help when I need it' thank you to all the parents who were able to attend. We worked as a class to film a video to show how we in Ashton 1 are able to ask for help and who we go to.

On Friday we were playing in the playground and we heard a loud sound. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a fire engine in our playground. First they introduced themselves and we got to have a tour around the fire engine it was so amazing! We even got to sit inside! We are really pleased with how well our new Nursery children have settled in.
We have been learning about our routines in Nursery, our new friends and teachers.
This week we have been learning all about number 1 and the children have really enjoyed singing our favourite song, 'one little finger', and going on number hunts around the classroom.

On Friday 9th June the children in Nursery celebrated International Dough Disco day!
We spent the day doing lots of activities to make our fingers strong to help us to become good writers. We then finished off with a disco.
We also made playdough to sell for charity.
The Nursery children raised £50 for the Spread the Happiness charity!!
