Elford 1- Amazing Autumn 1

We have had a fantastic start to year 4, learning and embedding our brand new rules, routines and classroom environment and were keen to start exploring rainforest habitats around the world! We have used our geography skills to locate world rainforests; ICT skills to research creatures that live there; reading skills to learn about the four distinct layers and The Great Kapok Tree; and writing skills to create our own non-chronological report all about rainforests. As part of our theme, we visited Tropical World to discover the many unique animals that can be found in tropical habitats. We have enjoyed starting our swimming lessons and learning the strokes. Our class assembly on anti-bullying was a highlight and we have loved learning to play the ukulele! We have some budding musicians in Elford 1! In art, we have been inspired by the work of Sir Henry Moore to create our own family portraits. We look forward to a fantastic Autumn 2!
