The children in Elford 2 chose 'In Flander's Field' as their class poem. This also fit in wonderfully with rememberance day celebrations. Children created their own actions to go with the words to the poem. They enjoyed the challenge of learning the words to the poem.
I can’t believe a month of lockdown has come and gone! It’s been such a strange time and it feels like ages since we’ve seen each other. Luckily, many of us have been able to join our class meetings on Zoom! It is wonderful to discuss the work with you and to be able to answer your questions! Remember; if you want to share any of your work with me or ask a question, please email:
I hope that you are all well. It was fantastic to speak to so many parents and children in the last few days. Many children were making snowmen and throwing snow balls in their gardens. I hope you had a really fun time doing this.
You will have received a text message inviting you to our class calls next week. It will be great to see as many children as possible with...
We are here again, hopefully not for the length of the first lockdown of March 2020. Today I have spent the morning speaking to parents of Elford 1 about the learning packs that are due to arrive tomorrow. It's always lovely to speak to parents; admittedly I did spend 10 minutes speaking to Ayishah's dad about why Liverpool FC appear to be losing...
We hope all of you had a wonderful break and a lovely time off. Did you enjoy the snow we got in Harehills? It really felt like winter. We hope you dressed warmly! It says it should snow again soon which will be lots of fun!
We all hoped we would be together again this week but with the new national lockdown it is important we stay home for everyone’s safety. You will getting a phone call...
It’s a bright sunny morning and it really feels like summer. I hope you had a wonderful past few weeks and an amazing time celebrating Eid if your family observes Ramadan.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen you all and I wish you’re all doing well. Hopefully you’re eating healthy, getting exercise and working on your school work. The Year 4 teachers will be back in school...
It’s been a little while since my last message to you all, but things have been moving pretty slowly around here. I am keeping busy and I was working with the Year 4 teachers last week preparing the Distance Learning Folders you got on Thursday. Remember you can email the Year 4 teachers at elfords@harehills.leeds.sch.uk if you need any help!
I hope you’re all staying home and staying safe. I don’t know about you, but it is getting harder to stay inside with the weather being so nice. However, it is very important, so I am only going out once a day for exercise on long walks. Every time I go out, I try to walk a different way and explore new streets. I love seeing all the trees...
We hope you have all had a lovely Easter and that you are all staying safe and well at home. Your lovely teachers have all been working hard to put together another pack of interesting work for you to complete at home, which you will be getting this week. This includes a project all about the Tudors, as our theme this half-term and next half-term is, “Tudors – terrible or...
If we were following the regular school calendar, we would all be reuniting today in our classroom to talk about our 2-week holiday! Unfortunately, we are not together this morning and we will have to wait a little longer to share our stories and learn as a class. What a wonderful day that will be!
Tomorrow, the Year 4 teachers will be going into school to prepare more...
