Learning at the heart of everything
This week has shown that learning truly is at the heart of everything we do. Year 5 gave us a very impressive snapshot into learning when they presented a showcase of all they have learned so far this year. We were wowed by what we saw, especially the creative, engaging activities that the children have experienced as part of their themes, "World War II: was it worth it" and "Are we alone?" The confidence and enthusiasm they demonstrated whilst performing was amazing.
During the week all teachers engaged in moderation events either at school or at 2gether Cluster schools; a vital part of robust and secure assessment. On Thursday we were pleased to host one of the Local Authority Early Years statutory moderation events. Colleagues attending were treated to a tour of our provision for Foundation 2 and were very complementary of what they saw.
Friday saw us open our doors to 16 trainee teachers from the Heart of Yorkshire SCITT course and showcase quality provision for EAL learners. One trainee sent me an email saying:
"I would just like to express my gratitude. I had a wonderful time in your school. The pupils and the staff were very welcoming, helpful and informative.I would greatly like to visit again."
The feedback we received from everyone who has visited us this week has been really complementary which is just fantastic. Well done to everyone for proving that we remain committed to keeping high quality learning at the forefront of everything we do 😊
