The subject for Darfield 3's assembly was Refugee week and it was full of poignant messages. The children acted out a story of a family having to flee from their home because of war. I think we all felt very emotional as they showed us the impact it had on the family's lives. They had chosen to sing the song Refuge to end their assembly and it couldn't have been more perfect. The message was strong and coming from young children we all left the hall with a feeling of hope for the future.
Thank you children for reminding us of how we must take time to think about others, understand what their lives are like and to try to influence change for the better in our world.
