A light at the end of a very long tunnel
Last Friday it was seven years since I got the job as Headteacher of Harehills Primary School and I never could have foreseen I would be leading a school during a national pandemic! What a journey we have all been on over the last seven years - together we have achieved so much 😊
A brand-new half term and it does feel like we can see some light at the end of this very long, dark Covid-19 tunnel we have been living in. I am sure there will be lots of very excited HPS children out there knowing that they can come back to school very soon. I for one cannot wait to have school 'buzzing' again with all our staff and children.
The staff team have been amazing since Boris Johnson's announcement; managing to balance remote learning and keeping children learning in the bubbles in school, whilst beginning to prepare for the return of all the children. There have been so many times this week when different members of staff have covered gaps for us at very short notice. SLT are always incredibly grateful for their flexibility and understanding.
This week we have a Covid-19 Health and Safety audit conducted by Isacc Hewton from the LA on the afternoon of Thursday 4th March. I am very proud of all we have put in place to minimise the risk of infection and I am sure Isaac will be able to see this.
Have a very happy week 😊
