Moving on up
We have already started our work on preparing our children for the next step in their learning journey. I have noticed that children are showing signs of the maturity needed for this. Last Monday Elford 2 children led our assembly with real confidence. The audience was wowed when a group played ukuleles and then the whole class sang 'Man in the mirror'. The message was "I can change my behaviour for the better" and included the children showing how important it is to reflect on what you say or do.
Wednesday was a day filled with sporting activities for Year 5 and 6 children. Our cricket team proved yet gain how good we are at cricket by reaching the semi-finals of the Leeds Cricket competition.
After school, our Year 5 Netball team played a match against Carr Manor Primary school. I watched the match and was delighted to see the true sportsmanship that existed between both teams. Our team won and at the end each team selected their player of the match. It was fantastic to see the competitive spirit with children encouraging and supporting players from both teams.
