The most wonderful time of the year
The children from all classes in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 brought the gift of love to Harehills Primary last week when they performed their version of the Christmas story. The huge smiles on their faces showed how much they enjoyed taking part and we were all amazed by how they had managed to learn the words to so many songs.
The play included a message about hunger and lack of water. Our Head boy and Head girl addressed the audience explaining that we were collecting money to give to Save the Children and do our bit to help to feed starving children. Then 90 children gave a heart warming rendition of the Band Aid hit "Do they know it's Christmas". Listening to them sing with such feeling, along with actions was a very powerful experience.
To finish a very special morning in style the children from Nurture entertained us by singing and dancing to 'Rocking around the Christmas tree.'
Our children really showed how you can, "put your arms around the world at Christmas time."
We have one week left of this term and the Christmas festivities and it will be time to party for everyone.
I can't wait!
