Attitudes to Learning
Last week we proved that collaborating as a team of staff and children we can help one another to achieve.
Darfield 2 children reminded us of how important it is to be resilient and Year 6 children proved they could be during a long hard week of Mock SATs. Encouraged and supported by their staff buddies they persevered and remained focused throughout. A huge thank you to all our staff who play their part in this.
Anne Fell our School Improvement Advisor visited on Wednesday and carried out a learning walk with members of our Strategic Leadership team as well as Year group leaders. She was impressed by the excellent attitudes to learning she saw from our children in all year groups. Commenting on our 'stimulating' environments she spoke of good behaviour and clear focus.
Making Funny Faces
We love to embrace any activities which will show that we care for those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
On Friday, everyone was let loose with face paints and given the task of making their faces funny for money as part of this year's Comic Relief "Red Nose Day" campaign. Around school classes were singing or listening to a special song written for Red Nose Day 2015 called "Making Funny Faces"
it is essential that our children participate in events such as this; enabling them to become thoughtful global citizens of the future with a conscience that allows them to think of others.
