This is me
Ashton 3 children sang their hearts out, giving us a very powerful rendition of the song "This is me" from the film "The Greatest Showman" at the beginning of their assembly last week. To see 4 and 5 year olds perform with such confidence and conviction was really impressive and certainly got the message home. The assembly was all about showing that they knew what to do to help if someone felt sad, scared or unsafe and the important messages they had to share came out loud and strong.
It certainly is a scary world our children are growing up with lots of things that can make them feel sad and unsafe but by following the advice given by our youngest children then we should know where to go for help.
They were right to remind us that we should never be ashamed or feel sad or scared about who we are. It doesn't matter what we look like, what colour our skin is or where we come from because we are all unique and special.
I hope that everybody at Harehills Primary is proud to stand up and say - THIS IS ME
