Making things work at the start of a new school year
The first week of a school year is always a busy one and with changes to our operational arrangements due to the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, it was always going to be a challenge. Many of the HPS staff team have been in school over the summer and worked incredibly hard so that school was ready to welcome everyone back. As we opened the gates on Tuesday morning, all I saw were children's happy, smiling faces and there has been a calm, purposeful atmosphere right across school all week; definitely a 'buzz of learning'. 📚📖😁
Well done teachers and classroom support staff for continuing to create the perfect conditions to enable children to learn, laugh and love.
A huge thank you to the office, site, cleaning and catering teams for all the work that goes on behind the scenes to make things operate as smoothly as possible. Classrooms and shared areas inside and outside of school look bright, refreshed and exciting. I know the children coudn't wait to see their friends and get into their new classrooms to see their teacher and the adults who will be working with them this year.
The support from our families has been amazing. They have been patient and understanding and worked with us to make sure the new arrangements can be implemented. Where there have been concerns or queries we have found a way to make it better. Please keep talking to us if you need to.
After only four days in school we should feel so proud of such a great start. Well done to everyone. 👏👏👏😊
