A healthy mind
It was perfect timing for Darfield 3 to talk to us about the importance of a healthy mind which was the focus of their class assembly last week. We were impressed by their drama skills when they acted out emotions such as anger, sadness, joy, fear and disgust all of which can be inside your mind: and sometimes at the same time! Then they shared different ways that you can help keep your mind healthy if you start to feel overwhelmed. These included a demonstration of Mini-Me yoga and an invite to join in a Mindfulness session. There was a reminder of the small things that can make a big difference such as listening to music, reading a book or having a relaxing bath. Finally they stressed the importance of talking to someone if you are struggling to cope.
I certainly left the hall feeling well -equipped to deal with the challenges of the day. Messages in abundance for our little and big learners alike.
As we head into the annual 'SATSathon' week for Year 6 I am crossing my fingers that all involved will remember to help keep their minds healthy during what can be a very challenging time.
You are ready for this Year 6. Good luck 👍
