For the last few years we have celebrated World Mental Health Day and raised money for the Young Minds charity by taking part in the #helloyellow day activities. Our focus on mental health continues to be vital in supporting our whole school community. Never more so than during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday 8th October we embraced the #helloyellow celebrations in school, this tying in nicely with World Mental Health Day which was on Sunday 10th October.

The activties included , an assembly for LKS2 & UKS2, photo booth resources, and some lovely bunting classes decorated with chidren's own messages about mental health. There's was something for everyone!

Some classes completed a short mindfulness or a Mini-Me yoga session, taking the chance to remind everyone that it is usually 'the small things' which make a difference to how someone is feeling, including themselves.

Children and staff were encouraged to wear something yellow (even if it was only a sock or a hairclip or something small) on the day and we collected £1 donations with all proceeds going to the Young Minds charity.

Thanks to Mrs McMullen and Miss Melling for all the work they do do promote healthy minds at Harehills Primary School. 👏👏

It seemed very apt that school was bathed in yellow sunshine on such a happy day 😊🌞
