Celebrating special times
One of the things that makes Harehills Primary School such a rich. diverse and colourful place to be is sharing different cultural, religious and special occasions. Understanding the traditions that are important to others helps develop respect and tolerance which is so important in creating active citizens in our community. Last week many of our children and their families celebrated Eid-al-Fitr and we chose to have celebrations in school on Thursday or Friday for all our year groups.
Having taken a tour around school it was fantastic to see children in their colourful, stylish Eid clothes ready to have some fun. This year I have been wowed by the range of styles including accessories.
As usual, our families have been very generous and sent in food for the children to share.
What a wonderful, happy end to our first week back after half term 😁
