'Get your sparkle on'
Glitter, sequins and tinsel were in abundance last Monday when Harehills Primary decided to 'get their sparkle on' in aid of the NSPCC. ✨❇
It couldn't have been better timed than on a day when we had our special assemblies about Advent and decorated our Christmas tree.
The children came into assembly to the wonderful voice of Michael Buble singing 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' and one by one children came, chose a decoration and placed it on our tree. Some classes had brought decorations that they had made as well. We had invited our own celebrity Mickey P. Kerr to switch on our lights along with a boy and girl who have celebrity status on school. Mickey accompanied by our newly formed Voices of Harehills choir led us in singing the well known classic 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday' In the darkness we had a count down before switching on the lights on our tree and the children let out gasps of wonder at the spectacular sight. 🎄
Moments like this are special and really do create a magical feeling which will continue through the last two weeks of this school term bringing with it warmth and harmony for us all.
