Sandhurst 2 - Mr Khan
Hello Sandhurst 2,
I hope you and your families are keeping well. It seems like ages since we last saw each other and as we come to the end of week five in lockdown, I know that most of you would have developed some sort of routine in keeping yourselves busy at home with a range of activities. These may include working on your home learning packs, undertaking new hobbies, helping with household chores and exploring new ideas to keep yourselves fit and healthy! I have heard lovely things about people making the perfect cup of tea and those who are supporting parents with household chores which always puts a smile on my face! I may even put you to the test and enjoy some of these when we get back!
Last week would have been the start of the summer term and as you well know, this term we would have been facing our SATs test – something I know that most of those who like a challenge - were determined to succeed in! Now, I know the SATs and other exams are important to all of you as they give you an opportunity to show-off all the knowledge you have learnt- but think about all the things they do not test! The key life skills, that you are developing right now!
It has been a rather busy week for all the teachers who have been beavering away in getting your second learning packs ready for you to use. You may have had the chance to see a staff member when these were delivered to you! I know how special this must have been for you and your teachers! Mrs McMullen and the other teachers have spoken to me about the wonderful conversations they’ve had with you and your families; it was lovely to hear how you were getting on! I’m sorry that I couldn’t speak to you or your families on this occasion and will hopefully get the chance to speak to you soon.
The Year 6 team have put together a range of exciting resources and activities for you to be getting on with. I totally understand that it can be quite hard, but you must ensure you structure your day and dedicate some time to schoolwork. Whether you are using the learning packs or the online links, this will prepare you to take on further challenges when we are back at school! I look forward to seeing some of the great work you have been doing at home!
We now have a year group email address so if you are unsure about anything, want to ask a question or share some of your amazing work then please use this email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Another new feature that Ben has added to our school website is the ‘Shout Out’ wall, where you guys can leave a message for your friends! You can send a message by simply emailing email@example.com. I’ll be looking out for these so don’t forget to include your name and class.
Similar to you, I’ve been keeping myself busy with a little bit of all-sorts and I will update you on these in my next blog. As some of you and your families will be fasting this month, I will take this opportunity to wish you a Ramadhan Mubarak!
I know things have been and will be different for us all, but always remember to be the best you, you can be!
Stay positive, enjoy your time with family and make sure you are keeping yourself and everyone safe. Hope to see you soon!
A little bit of fun!
