We are really pleased with how well our new Nursery children have settled in.
We have been learning about our routines in Nursery, our new friends and teachers.
This week we have been learning all about number 1 and the children have really enjoyed singing our favourite song, 'one little finger', and going on number hunts around the classroom.
On Friday 9th June the children in Nursery celebrated International Dough Disco day!
We spent the day doing lots of activities to make our fingers strong to help us to become good writers. We then finished off with a disco.
We also made playdough to sell for charity.
The Nursery children raised £50 for the Spread the Happiness charity!!

This week Nursery are running wild!
To launch our new topic 'Paws and Claws' Nursery began this half term with a dressing up fun day. The children came to school dressed as their favorite animal. We also had a variety of face painting and wild activities.

This term we are learning all about 'The Jungle'. We have looked at various jungle animals, we have pretended to be jungle explorers, and we have also used our bodies to create different animal movements. This week we had a lady come in from Northern Ballet. She told us the story of the Tortoise and the Hare through dance and movement. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and had lots of fun joining in.
The children have been settling into their new Nursery environment. We have been focusing on learning the classroom rules, sharing and making friends. Our topics this term are 'Ourselves' and 'Autumn.' The children have been enjoying joining in with the story 'We're Going on a Leaf Hunt.' This week we had a Teddy Bears Picnic party day at Nursery! We had party games, a disco and a bouncy castle all finished off by having a lovely picnic in the sunshine which the children had helped to plan and prepare. As you can see it was smiles all round - we had lots of fun!
