This week, in theme we have been writing a letter to one of our suspects. We wrote a letter to Mrs Peacock from the debt collection agency and also from the charity. We really enjoyed writing from the debt collection agency, we warned her that if she did not pay up - that we would take her out of her home!

During well-being week we did lots of different activities to relax, have fun and try new things. We made some delicious pizza with yummy toppings. We started with the dough then we put the sauce on. We cut up the vegetable toppings such as peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes and added them on. We sprinkled cheese on top and all of year five made a pizza each to take home.

In year 5 we have been examining the evidence for our theme Can you crack the case? We have been analysing fingerprints, shoe prints and chromatography.
We lined some trays with soil and pressed our shoe inside it. Then we poured plaster of paris into the tray with the mould of the shoe print.

This term our theme is can you crack the case? At the start of term our teachers acted out a courtroom case. A burglary had been committed at a bank in Harehills where a precious necklace and £20,000 had gone missing. There were six suspects - all played out by teachers. The judge was Mrs Summerfield. This half term in Nursery our topic is Traditonal Tales. We are reading stories such as 'The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk. The children are becoming familiar with these stories and retelling them independently using the illustrations as prompts.
