Lockdown - Week 4
Hello our lovely Luxor learners,
As we start week four of lockdown, we would like you to reflect on how much change you’ve had to adapt to and how well you’re adjusting accordingly. You’re doing so well! We are so proud of you all! It is lovely to see so many of you attending your ‘Zoom Class Meets’ and how confident some of you are becoming on the Zoom app. Well done! 😊
Year 5s ‘Zoom Class Meets’ are every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:15am. If you need help on joining please contact the year 5 team on firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of the year 5 time will be more than happy to assist you!
Well done to everyone who is emailing their pictures of projects/learning to their class teachers.
It was lovely to hear so many of you have completed your previous learning pack (2 weeks’ worth of learning – 4 hours a day) and have already started on your next pack! Excellent 😊
Keep sending your learning at home pictures 😊
The National Oak Academy has launched the Virtual School Library in partnership with The National Literacy Trust. They will offer free books and audiobooks on their website for children to enjoy whilst learning from home. Last week, many children from Luxors enjoyed watching a video from Jacqueline Wilson, read The Story of Tracy Beaker for FREE!
This is what Ms Wilson said:
This week the Virtual School Library Author of the week is the wonderful Nizrana Farook 😊
Visit https://library.thenational.academy to read or listen to The Girl Who Stole an Elephant plus watch an exclusive video and discover Nizrana’s top three children’s books!
Can you create a book review for The Girl Who Stole an Elephant? What did you like about the book? What didn’t you like about the book? Would you recommend this book to a friend? Remember to send your book review to Luxors@harehills.leeds.sch
Zoom meets for Luxors are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10.15am. We will be using the same link every time we meet – if you need the link sending to you, please email your class teacher on email@example.com
If you would like to challenge yourself further, remember you can use the home learning tab. Your usernames and passwords are all stuck on your home learning folder. If you require further assistance, please email the year 5 team.
Keep yourself updated with what is happening during lockdown by watching Newsround on the CBBC channel.
We look forward to seeing you during our Zoom Meets! Keep warm, stay safe and look after yourself and your family!
